Overall excellent cruise with some issues

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Journey

The staff, cuisine and ability for the ship to enter all ports owing to it's size, were truly excellent. The entertainment was a standout especially as regards the external talent. The Azamara troupe was full of xing but not always great individual singing talent. That said...as a troupe they were just fine and the Cruise Directors excellent. Yes the ship is in need of some TLC as it has clearly ...

First time on Azamara and NOT disappointed !

We have cruised over 12 voyages on various cruise lines, including a river cruise and have had varied experiences. We had heard great things about Azamara and we were not disappointed. Yes, the earlier technical glitches were unnerving but thanks to the many loyal Azamara regulars on this site, our concerns were allayed. While the room was smaller that we expected, we found lots of cubbies to ...

Great entertainment, bathrooms too small!

Ship is nice with a good itinerary. The idea of spending the night in a few ports was attractive. However, the itinerary changed 3 times after we had booked and we booked only 100 days out. These changes actually took out an entire night in Rouen, France which changed the ability to spend an evening in Paris which was our plan. Azamara's goal is to make this a boutique cruise catering to a smaller ...

Nice ship, great port stops, a few misses

We sailed on Azamara Journey from Barcelona 29-Sept-18 to Rome 6-Oct-18. Cabin 7121. This was our first sailing with Azamara, our 15th cruise overall. Anxious to try out the smaller ship we were looking forward to this itinerary and stopping in some smaller ports the itinerary offered. Embarkation was incredibly easy, only issue was finding the ship location as it differed from the address ...

Trying out Azamara to see if it fits our age bracket

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Azamara Journey

We feel that we are out growing Celebrity and are looking to find a place for us to continue cruising. Sadly Azamara wasn't the fit for us. Azamara is a lovely cruise line but it seems to cater to an older and a more sedate crowd. We prefer a more lively bar scene and love the martini bar on celebrity. We never found a place that really had a big enough bar to allow for a lively bar scene. They ...

Great Ship, Great Cruise...But OhThose Showers

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, which did not disappoint, and the reviews we had read about how great the Journey looked after her face lift. We agree that the ship looked so much better than it did in 2015. The staff was still amazing and very attentive to all of our needs. The AzAmazing evening was OK, but many people couldn't see well because of the was the stage was set. If ...

Not new to Azamara so know what to expect and on the whole it does deliver a great experience. However on this journey I did have some niggles, everything was not perfect but once I spoke to the Rob, Guest Services Manager, things did get better. However as the scourge of many cruise lines the devil is in the detail and the ball kept being dropped. On arrival we had been twinned on an embarkation ...

We just disembarked from the Azamara Journey....Lisbon to Hamburg. We boarded the ship in Lisbon in an organized fashion. Registration took place in what is the Cabaret Lounge...some computer glitches...but it didn't take long at all. CONDITION OF SHIP: My first impression upon seeing the lounge was that the furniture and ship looked worn....which is a turn-off for me. When we finally ...

First time with Azamara, this trip was offered for a long weekend fri-mon from Rome, travelling to St Tropez and Portofino, as it's only 2 hours away from Gatwick we thought why not, something different. after a early morning flight, we arrived onboard around midday, to be greeted with a cold class of champagne and a very lovely lady was asking us about our flight was we ok etc.we had plenty of ...
