NTSB Wraps Up On Site Inspection
The National Transportation Safety Board has completed its onsite investigation into the tragic boiler explosion on Norwegian Cruise Line's Norway. Officials at the NTSB continue to maintain that the actual completion of the investigation could take up to a year. In the meantime, NCL says in a statement that it is making decisions to remove Norway to a shipyard-to-be-determined for the necessary repair work on the ship.

In sad news, NCL also reports that an eighth crewmember has died as a result of injuries suffered in the explosion. Rolando Tejero, a 40-year old chef who had worked for NCL for 20 years on a variety of ships, had been in intensive care since the accident. Tejero was from Manila. The five remaining crewmembers who had been hospitalized have been released.
