| New Pacific Princess to Cruise Alaska |
For the hearty band of Renaissance Cruises' aficionados there's good news today. Princess Cruises, which has acquired two of the now-defunct line's 688-passenger ships, is assigning one of them to a unique Alaska itinerary next summer. The ship, now dubbed Pacific Princess, will sail 11-day voyages out of San Francisco between May 29 and September 5. Ports of call include Victoria or Vancouver, Ketchikan or Sitka, Skagway and Juneau.
Pacific Princess is the ship that P&O has designated to straddle the company's two brands. Following Princess Cruises' stint in Alaska, the ship will reposition to French Polynesia (where sister ship and fellow Renaissance vessel Tahitian Princess will sail there year-round). Later in the year, Pacific Princess will head to Australia/New Zealand where it will serve its time with P&O Cruises Australia.
