The BBC reports that the blaze started at 10 a.m. Friday. With coastguard assistance, crews were able to contain the fire and conduct repairs onboard while the ship was anchored.
Paul Green, a Saga representative, tells us the fire was small and electrical; no passengers were injured, and power has been restored. The ship resumed its voyage after the necessary repairs were completed. Because Sapphire is slated to return to Dover on Monday as scheduled, the next sailing isn't expected to be impacted.
