Thomson Cruises Adds Balconies to Fleet
(12:15 p.m. EST) -- Thomson Cruises will add 73 balconies to three ships in its fleet: Thomson Celebration, Thomson Spirit and Thomson Majesty.

Thomson Celebration is currently in dry dock in Germany and is in the process of having 26 balconies added. Thomson Majesty will be fitted with 28 balconies and Thomson Spirit will have 19 balconies added. Thomson Dream already has six private balconies and there are no plans to add more.

The balconies will be added onto selected cabins and available to book for sailings from November 2014.

The line is currently in the process of finalizing when Majesty and Spirit will go into dry dock to have the balconies fitted.

Earlier this year, Thomson upgraded two of its fleet -- Dream and Celebration -- to 'Platinum' status, its own in-house grading system which has made the ships more contemporary.

Last week the line announced the launch of a Masterchef-style competition and a new homeport for Thomson Dream.
