Cruise Shipping Miami (CSM), the annual maritime mega-conference, is a pope's parade of industry big shots, who host dinners, sit on expert panels and talk a lot of shop. But its defining element is the tradeshow floor. Every March, a 11.5-acre steel-beam city pops up to house bilge cleaner purveyors, salmon smokers and lonely bagpipers, alongside the famous yards, ports and marine suppliers. There are always surprises, like 2012's noro-scooter or 2008's robot bartender.
