(12 a.m. EDT) -- The fifth named storm of the season, Tropical Storm Edouard, is closing in on the Texas coast.
A tropical storm warning is currently in place from Grand Isle, Louisiana, to Port O'Connor, Texas. A hurricane watch is in place from Intracoastal City, Louisiana to Port O'Connor, Texas.
At 10 p.m. CDT, August 4, the centre of the storm was located 160 miles east-southeast of Galveston.
Carnival Cruise Lines has two ships homeported at Galveston. Carnival Conquest departs on Sundays for seven-night Caribbean itineraries. Carnival Ecstasy, which sails to the Mexican coast and the Western Caribbean, departed today as scheduled and will turn around again on Saturday. At this point, no itinerary changes have been announced.
Tropical Storm Edouard continues to strengthen with wind speeds around 60 miles per hour.
The National Hurricane Center has said that by midday Tuesday the centre of Tropical Storm Edouard is expected to be very near the upper Texas coast or the coast of southwestern Louisiana.
We'll keep you posted.
