A Mediterranean cruise has been on my bucket list for a very long time. We finally decided to do it this year, for my friend's 50th birthday. We chose this cruise because (a) we had done NCL twice before and really liked it, and (b) the itinerary is really good. Even though they took out the two stops in Turkey, we were very happy when they replaced them with Montenegro and Croatia.

We arrived in Venice on Saturday morning, and had until Sunday evening to explore the city. We totally loved it. I will need to go back there and stay longer next time. We stayed overnight in an apartment that we booked through the VRBO website.

Embarkation went smooth, except that you need to walk a very long way to get onto the ship. Totally not like when we board in Fort Lauderdale or Miami. And we got conflicting info from NCL staff about when we needed to be on board. So we cut our visit to Murano short on Sunday to be back on board, but found out afterwards that we didn't really have to board until much later.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

Cabin was smaller than I expected, having travelled more on Holland America. The "couch" area is really small with a small table and chair. The TV is in a corner cabinet as you enter the room. So crowded to get around. Only four small drawers in the TV cabinet. Closet didn't really have good space to stack clothes. Need to bring extra hangers, if you can since there is plenty of room to hang up clothes.

Bathroom is split into two, with shower on the left, toilet on the right. In theory this is good, so multiple people can use the same area. But I would prefer to have one larger bathroom. There was a terrible smell in the toilet area. We had to leave the bathroom door open, to make it even breathable. We complained at the front desk multiple times. So often that they sent us chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of wine. Finally, after multiple tries, they did manage to get rid of the smell. I don't know what the solution was.

Balcony area is OK. Two regular chairs and one very small table. Just enough room for two people. But always nice to have when you arrive and depart from the ports.
