This is only our 2nd cruise. Admittedly we are hotel snobs and choose the nicest 4 and 5 star hotels when traveling, the Carnival Freedom does not fit this bill at all. The cabin is down right depressing and very dated for a ship that is only 9 years old! Air conditioning was pretty much non existent and guest services only provided a fan upon complaining! Let me start by saying that this was my second cruise. The bar was set high by Disney on my first cruise. If you like Walmart and Golden Corral buffets, you will like Carnival.

Had a very relaxing cruise. The ease and draw for us is the Galveston location. Beautiful seas, mostly sunny days. Freedom was OK we did not have any really big complaints but not the best ship, it did the job for us in terms of easy to get to. This is our second Freedom cruise our 11th overall cruise.

We live in Dallas, so we drove down Friday and stayed at the Super 8 in La Marque for the night. Old but clean. Saturday morning we drove to an off site enclosed parking lot that shuttles to the pier. Sorry, I can't remember the name even though we have used them twice now. Our shuttle driver Doug was Great, very informative about the cruise industry in his town.
