We arrived in Galveston from three ports to enjoy our first family vacation ,this party of eight. This was our first time out of Galveston , usually we leave out of anywhere in Florida and IT WAS A MESS!!! Not accounting for the cold weather, which is totally out of anyones control, IT SEEMED LIKE A CATTLE CALL! Herding them up and getting them in. people everywhere and no order, or speakers so ...

Good Service and Food, Hot Dingy Cabin, UGLY Ship!

This is only our 2nd cruise. Admittedly we are hotel snobs and choose the nicest 4 and 5 star hotels when traveling, the Carnival Freedom does not fit this bill at all. The cabin is down right depressing and very dated for a ship that is only 9 years old! Air conditioning was pretty much non existent and guest services only provided a fan upon complaining! We were unable to sleep most nights ...

Here we go, everybody--I am a longtime Carnival cruiser (gold level at the moment), but have also cruised NCL and RCCL, so I like variety (but still have a preference for Carnival). Gonna break this up so it isn't so laborious or you can scroll to the topic you're most interested in. Embarkation--easy, peasy. We drove down to the port that morning since we're only 4.5 hrs away. We parked at EZ ...

This was our 6th cruise; and the second and probably last on Carnival. It's not that there was anything particularly *bad* about this cruise experience, it's just that my wife and I have found we consistently like other lines we have been on better. Some highlights - Our travel party included my daughter and 4-year-old grandson. We took a 3-day Disney cruise last year with them, as well, ...

Let me start by saying that this was my second cruise. The bar was set high by Disney on my first cruise. If you like Walmart and Golden Corral buffets, you will like Carnival. Pro- 1. Price 2. 80's show was entertaining 3. Steak House 4. The crew was very friendly Con- 1. The food was mostly tasteless and reminded me of Golden Corral. 2. The dining room and buffet ...

Had a very relaxing cruise. The ease and draw for us is the Galveston location. Beautiful seas, mostly sunny days. Freedom was OK we did not have any really big complaints but not the best ship, it did the job for us in terms of easy to get to. This is our second Freedom cruise our 11th overall cruise. The servers are not as friendly as on other cruises but oh well. The ship was clean, the ...

We have always used Carnival, less expensive and never had one complaint with them. Food is always amazing, entertainment is always good, and the service has been great. On the first night of our last cruise we have rough seas, Chris Williams (the Flying Scotsman) performed, the absolute best show we have ever seen on any cruise! I think too many people have some expectation that they should have ...

We live in Dallas, so we drove down Friday and stayed at the Super 8 in La Marque for the night. Old but clean. Saturday morning we drove to an off site enclosed parking lot that shuttles to the pier. Sorry, I can't remember the name even though we have used them twice now. Our shuttle driver Doug was Great, very informative about the cruise industry in his town. Embarkation was very different ...

Anniversary done right; I was spoiled!

Anniversary cruise. We had a great time all around. Food, entertainment, ports of call, and staff. Surprised by gift cards left from our room steward, free bottle of wine and % off at the spa (pedicure Time). This cruise was a laid back one for us. In Roatan we took the chair lifts and ate at Fat Tuesdays (the Jerk Chicken was to die for and I don't eat foods like that), and walked around the ...

This cruise on Feb20 thru the 27th was our 14th cruise with carnival cruise lines. It was the 1st time on board the Freedom out of Galveston Texas and with no doubt this was the worst cruise of the previous 13. Let's begin with the new timed staging embarkation for us. Please note both my spouse and I are platinum status along with our travel mates my brother and sister in law. According to the ...
