I chose this cruise after researching small ship cruising that offered opportunities to visit small less visited towns and the areas that the big ships don’t have access to. The cruise has a big emphasis on science with an expedition team led by enthusiastic knowledgeable crew who give passengers the ability and encouragement to submit data, photographs, sightings etc to websites tracking the ...

We really enjoyed the staff and meals, and the extra help the crew supplied due to my sister-in-laws limited mobility. Everyone was friendly and efficient, and the excitement of the expedition team (especially when they were discussing their areas of expertise) was wonderful to watch. The cabins were comfy and well designed, and the ship was new and nice. We appreciated the emphasis on ‘green’ ...

Hurtigruten and the Roald Amundsen far exceeded our expectations. First, the Alaska coast takes your breath away and the ability for the Amundsen to navigate in to excluded fjords and bays was amazing. Second, the Expedition staff ensured a great experience in each situation including zodiac and kayak trips up the glaciers, amid water falls and ice flows. Excursions ranged from trips deep into ...

This expeditionary cruise is superb following the most spectacular coastal scenery. The ship is very new and the right size for this type of voyage. Cabins or state rooms (we were on deck 5 ) are very comfortable with a big bed and nice size shower room with underfloor heating - lovely. Particularly liked the lift with a huge screen behind showing scenery from various voyages. There is a running ...

This cruise was my fourth Hurtigruten experience, the first two having been the traditional Hurtigruten round trip between Bergen and Kirkenes (near the Soviet border) and back. The third was a one-way coastal voyage to Kirkenes in the 1990s followed by a side visit to the Sami people in northern Finland. My wife and I had been attracted to another fjord-type holiday for some time and selected the ...

This was our first expedition cruise with Hurtigruten. The welcome on board was amazing and the staff were all so professional. The food was above excellent and the staff made this trip a very special occasion. Totally impressed and would highly recommend. We can’t wait to go back on board. This was a true adventure and the small boat cruising was incredible. A trip of a lifetime and special ...
