This was my first cruise. It was awesome. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. it amazed me how well they kept up with the crowds. There were 1500 children on board but i never saw them except in the late evenings around the pool. Not sure where they were but I suspect they were hidden away in activity areas, We had a hurricane on our tail the entire trip but it never rained except ...

Cruised with three other couples. Overall, we enjoyed the Conquest much better after the 2.0 upgrade. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the Guy Burgers and Blue Iguana. Staff was pleasant. Loved the new music format of artists on acoustic guitars. Now for the detractors. Lots and lots and lots of unsupervised kids. Kind of tough to balance a round Guy burger plate with kids running into you. Understandable ...

This was our first time to ever cruise. It was me, my husband, my daughter who is 17 and her best friend, also 17. We embarked in New Orleans and the process was a breeze!! Checking in on ship was just as pleasant. I was, and still am in such amazement at the enormity of the ship. The most memorable characteristic of the trip was the extreme friendliness of the crew!! Always smiled, always spoke, ...

We traveled from Pensacola, FL to New Orleans Sunday morning with daughter, her husband and another couple, all 40 somethings. Arrived in N.O. before 10a.m. Purchased parking online at Fulton Street garage. Great location, easy to find and the $8 price is almost half of cruise ship parking. Very friendly porter helped with the ton of bags and the shuttle driver was amazing. Tipped her and the ...

Nothing is quite as inviting as when you pull up the cruise port and see the ship your preparing to board, sitting calmly in the water. This cruise, we used a new feature for Carnival called "Faster to the Fun" for $49.95. We love arriving on the ship and I have my pre-cruise ritual of unpacking, ironing, and preparing for the trip. We purchased the faster to the fun a week before boarding. We ...

Time to say goodbye to Carnival

As passengers eagerly awaited the daylight sailing down the Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico we were advised by the Cruise Director at 3:45 p.m. that it was time to purchase a sail away special drink for the 4 p.m. departure. We did not sail until 6:30! No explanation was given as time passed and no apology was offered even though we missed two and one half hours of daylight sailing time. ...

Let me simply say-This is our 8th Carnival Cruise. Our very first cruise was in August 2003 on the Carnival Conquest. We have compared every single cruise we have taken on carnival to this one ship and had high expectations as this was the "conquest". This review is a comparison to the then and now. The Boat- Beautiful with very little noticeable wear and nice work refinishing the boat. I ...

Unlike previous reviews where I have droned-on in prose, this time I'm going to get to the crux my cruise experience so you can better decide if this is the right cruise for you. The ship: Big, whimsical, and gaudy, with a nice, mostly functional layout. PROS (what's working well on the Carnival Conquest) -Sheets have been upgraded since last cruising, still a poly blend, but nicer than ...

7 Days out of New Orleans

We arrived in New Orleans via Amtrak at 1 AM. The train was 3 hours late due to bad weather along the route. There were no taxis waiting outside. After about 10 minuets a couple showed up. The driver took us and another couple in his cab and said it would cost $10 per couple to go to the Hyatt hotel across from the dock. This should have been a $7 metered ride, but since he was only one of two ...

We had a wonderful cruise on the Carnival Conquest. My wife an I have been on several Carnival Cruises in the past and this was our favorite. We used the Faster to the Fun option and really liked the perks of getting on and off the ship quickly. it tool us less than 10 minutes to go through the entire embarkation process and get into our rooms with all out bags already delivered. Getting off the ...
