Just back from a 7 night Eastern Caribbean on Oasis of the Seas and wanted to get all of my thoughts down while they're fresh. I was slightly concerned before I left after reading many of the more recent reviews of this ship. The theme that seemed to continually pop up was that the ship had too many people on board and that, subsequently, service and quality had suffered.

Having been on four previous RC cruises on Voyager and Freedom class ships, I was concerned that this would finally be the cruise where the other shoe would drop, and I would leave unsatisfied with RC for the first time.

My wife, two daughters (12 and 10) and I flew in to Ft Lauderdale the day before the cruise, just escaping the airport-closing-clutches of Hurricane Irene. We opted to stay at the Hampton Inn Ft Lauderdale North Cruise Port. This place had everything we were looking for: close to the airport and cruise port, food and basic shopping within walking distance, and (most importantly) free transportation from the airport and to the cruise port. No complaints here.

Cabin Review

Tight, but functional. Beds weren't the most comfortable. Great view from the hump cabin balcony.

Very quiet room.
