We just got home yesterday from our 3 night cruise on the Imagination. She is an older ship but well kept up in the public areas. The cabin on the other hand was another story. The bed was like a rock covered in nice bedding. This is the first cruise I have been on where the room steward was only so so at best.

We normally have a balcony cabin when we cruise but by the time we booked there were none available. It was my mistake that I jumped on an offered upgrade to the empress deck before I checked its location. It is directly under the galley! The noise was constant. On the last night we were awakened at 4am by someone dropping a truckload??? of pots and pans. It was so loud and so surprising my DH and I just started laughing. We were able to go back to sleep because after the crash I think most tip toed around the kitchen! The food was not to bad but I know it has been much better on longer cruises. Our dinner waiters and cocktail waiter were great always funny and fast in their service. We shared our table with a family of new cruisers and the waiters went out of their way to make it fun for them.

Room service was terrible! I ordered a steak sandwich that came with one thin slice of what looked like fatty roast beef. Ugh. My DH ordered the pastrami and said it was terrible too! Also why can't carnival serve a decent cup of coffee??
