We are a family of 3, 2 adults 1 teen and sailed on the Carnival Destiny on June 18th 2011 with stops in Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman. We booked the cruise through Carnival. Overall we had a great time on the Carnival Destiny despite some of the reviews on this site. We have found that on our cruises it's not necessarily the cruise staff or amenities that can "make or break" the cruise, it's mostly the other passengers! My family has perfected the fine art of "cruising without the crowd." With that being said, if there was one "major" complaint about the Destiny it would be Lido Deck. Even though there are 3 pools on Lido, they are very small and do not nearly accommodate the amount of people. (Better slides on Carnival Imagination) Our daughter swam for about 30 minutes and just couldn't stand the amount of kids in the pool, it was far too crowded.

Advice: Order room service in the morning, or eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in the dining room. You get better service and food options without fighting the crowds. You are paying for the dining room experience so take advantage of it.

Great location near the front of ship. Minimal Noise. Located right above life boat #1. Spectacular view!
