May 13th was D Day, 2 people with very opposite view joined the Spirit on 'the cruise of a lifetime' did it end that way....the answer was NO. who's fault was it...Certainly not the ship or the staff or the food. It was us!!!You could not fault any of the cruise staff one little bit, nothing was too much trouble, the food excellent, although sometimes made the wrong choice. By far too much if anything, the only thing we didnt enjoy was the Compass Rose, nothing wrong with the food, tho service a little stilted, it just wasnt 'us'The itinery was all we had expected, some of the ports we chose not to get off due to hubby's illness....."Scary Mary" will understand that one..Hello again. The weather was wonderfull for the whole trip tho those getting off to go into Athens had Rain...The change in itinery was a shame, tho we got to all the ports, the sad bit was for us anyway the port of Kotor...What a wonderful, magnificant sight that was and a shame we only got into port at 4.30pm still made the best.Venice was a shambles, the wait for the taxi too long, the heat for us unbareable..but the best bit was the sounds of Pavarotti and the 3 Tennors playing us out of port, past the Grand Canal, and St Marc square..had a few tears in my eyes that day, pity i was stood on the deck on my own..Mykonos, make sure you have sun glasses on, had to do the Shirley Valentine picture as i was on my own...Hubby ill. Went on our own to Spinalonga Island, Hubby wasnt impressed but as i had read the book was amazed at all we saw. Did that on our own, taxi there 13E it was 10E to ferry across, and 2E to get onto island, way cheaper than any tour...Dubrovnick wow again, such a wonderfull city, walls way to high for us to walk round, but views to die for. Nice icecream too..:O))The fact that hubby was ill made us have to re-think quite a lot on the trips etc, the Doctor on board the ship was wonderful, tho Eric didnt thank him for the Horse Pills he gave him..( to swallow or to...!!) still he picked up in no time.So all in all, i have enjoyed my 1st sea cruise, hubby only 50/50 but again no reflection on either the ship, food or staff....The small ship was nice, when we docked next to some of the 15-16 storey ones it made you think they were too big..Would we go again with Spirit.....YES and will certainly look at next years cruise's, going from Newcastle...take the rest of the family...Defo....

Cabin Review

Cabin 34i

Cabin 464 outside deck 3

Very good location to be, central for lifts essential for hubby. L shaped beds in the room, which gave plenty of space to move around. A little dated and tired, but after all you only slept in it...

Never felt the ship move at all and had to look out the window to see if we had reached port or still moving..it was that smooth.
