This was our 8th cruise, Celebrity cruise on the Century round the western Caribbean being the 1st and then Ocean Village around the Mediterranean 6 times and we loved the relaxed style on both of the ships that were Ocean Village 1 & 2 so when we saw that NCL Sun was sailing from Dover for the Baltic a place we had wanted to visit it looked perfect, freestyle cruising and no flight involved. We set of for the port of Dover on the 9th July Friday morning and booked into a Travelodge outside Canterbury for the night, the next morning after breakfast we continued on to Dover and left our car with Relyon Parking who promptly transferred us to the cruise terminal, check in and boarding was friendly and efficient we were given priority boarding. Our suite was unavailable until 14:00hrs so we had lunch in the Garden Cafe and did a little exploring around the ship, it was in pretty good shape certainly not new but very tidy and a nice layout. When we got into our cabin 9054 it was pretty much on par with the rest of the ship a little cramped but adequate, a bottle of Scotch & Vodka awaited us as I had requested prior to the cruise and a bucket of ice to follow (we brought our own mixers) Schweppes the best!!. The coast was shrouded in mist when we sailed so the famous white cliffs of Dover were blanked out so no photographs of them and it was pretty much like that until we were well out into the North Sea. It was when we were changing for dinner that we noticed the vibration in the cabin in was really bad trying to sit and read was impossible it was as if we were suffering from Parkinson's disease, we approached the customer services desk to explain what was happening and was told it was because the ship was going fast and that it was worst in his cabin on deck 3 as if that was supposed to make it all OK, wrong!! Another cabin would but alas there are none available the ship is full, well don't let it spoil the cruise I thought until we returned to the cabin for bed when we were shaken to sleep.

Day at sea cabin still vibrating even worse out on the balcony, we decided to have breakfast in the Garden Cafe it was very hectic trying to find empty tables and then joining the throng for buffet breakfast, first oddity was that there were no trays on which to carry your plate that was to hot to handle most of the time and then there was no side plates for bread rolls and butter, only small matters but why were they not provided, bacon was that overcooked streaky stuff little cocktail sausages and any combination of tomato, beans hash browns and eggs not forgetting the fruit and cereal and grits etc, I don't know what brought it about but after the 3rd day English bacon and sausage appeared on the menu thanks to whoever.

Evening meals were in the Seven Seas and Four Seasons Restaurants and were nothing to write home about, the wine waiter failed to appear at the table in the Four Seasons the first night saved me $35 for a bottle of wine and that was the cheap stuff, the staff in general were lacking in friendliness not chatty nor smiling enough. We enjoyed the entertainment in the Stardust Lounge what a hard working professional troop and great guest entertainers.

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BB

Without a doubt somewhat cramped, but something is wrong with the ammount of vibration felt in this cabin.
