Celebrity has been our go to cruise line for many years. However, after not cruising with them since Covid, we were dismayed to see how they have changed. We are hopeful that what we experienced on the Beyond is attributable to fact that is a reasonably new ship and/or that our experience on the Beyond only pertains to the Edge-class ships.

With respect to the dining experience, we thought food quality, selection and service have all gone downhill with respect to our previous Celebrity cruises. With the new format of four main dining rooms to select all with slightly different menus, one would think that this increases the selection. However, this is only partially true since two thirds of each dining room’s menu is unchanged from night to night. That leaves only three entrees and three starters that changes each day and these are all offered in all four dining rooms. While some of the dishes were very well done, others were mediocre.

In addition, the service was lacking in both speed as well as personal experience. Whereas in our previous Celebrity Anytime dining experiences we could go to the dining room and be seated in the same general area and hence build a rapport with the staff, now, with different menu selections in each of the dining rooms they effectively force you to migrate from one dining room to the other.
