This will be a detailed review of my sailing aboard the Celebrity Beyond departing on 15 January 2023 and returning on 22 January 2023. We sailed on this voyage because we wanted to experience this new ship.

My experiences which I found very good or outstanding during this cruise and areas that fell below expectations are detailed below.

Embarkation - The check-in process went smoothly, no need to go to a check-in desk. Having completed check-in on-line most likely contributed to the seamless process. However after check-in the boarding process was not as smooth as expected. Although we arrived at the port at my assigned boarding time, 11:00 – 11:30 the ship was not prepared to board us. We were asked, not politely I may add, to wait approximately 30 minutes. There were seating areas in the terminal for this and we were herded towards the rear of the building. Although there were open seats closely to the front of the terminal a stern lady kept waving her hands to herd us rearward. I attempted to speak to this employee on why we couldn’t sit in the open seats but she refused to speak with me just kept herding us rearward. I would note this was not the section reserved for suite guests. Now I understand those that arrived earlier deserve to board earlier but there were seats available to sit in. Also they did not seem to be looking for or caring about the assigned boarding time. I note when given the assigned boarding time Celebrity indicates that if you do not arrive at your time it may delay your boarding. Statistically speaking I am sure there were people in the terminal sitting up front who likely had a later boarding time. If Celebrity assigns boarding times they should enforce them as necessary. Once boarding commenced it went smoothly and passengers followed instructions nicely.
