This was our second cruise having previously been on the Royal Caribbean Wonder of the Seas in May that year. I knew that P&O do not offer the same level of service that RC do so I went in very open minded about this cruise and considering it was a fraction of the price of the RC cruise i knew it would be different. Fundamentally though i enjoyed the cruise and would travel on the Iona again.
My biggest recommendation for this cruise though would be to go with the flow or book everything early! Freedom Dinning was pretty poor which meant booking a table in the main dinning room and organising shows around this was challenging. We decided early on to just not use the 'app' and try our luck which worked much better! For the main dinning halls we just turned up and were either seated immediately or they gave us a buzzer, i think the longest we waited was half an hour. A lot of shows said sold out but when we turned up there was room, even in the 710 club which i would recommend. If you accept there is a bit more of a wait or chance to your plans you will have a more enjoyable time.
