Our family (My, Husband, 13 yo son) was excited to try the new Wonder of the Seas for our Thanksgiving cruise. We are platinum on Royal, but have never cruised on an Oasis class ship before and were excited to try all of the new offerings. Although we had some good moments, overall the ship felt way too crowded. We will probably not sail on a ship this size again. I will give the good and the bad details below.

Our stateroom: The ship is new and has a lot of cool technology. We liked the size of our stateroom (Ocean View Balcony) and loved the larger balcony. Our stateroom had plenty of storage, USB ports, and the bed and sofa bed for my son were very comfortable. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower was great. I loved that our balcony had chairs that reclined and footrests. Unfortunately, the way the doors are situated (and maybe insulated), every time our neighbors opened or shut their door, it sounded like our door, so I woke up numerous times per night thinking someone was coming into our room. Also, someone on a balcony close to us was smoking pot every night, so the smell wafted on to our balcony and into our room. If you want to smoke, that's your business, but don't do it on your balcony. Fortunately, RC security was responsive, but they never were able to identify the culprit.

The ship: As I mentioned above. WAY. too. crowded. I know this was a sold-out Thanksgiving cruise, but we didn't think there was enough staff for the 6700 guests on board. There were long lines for everything and the Windjammer was a nightmare. It was almost impossible to get food without waiting in a long line. My son didn't even get to try a lot of the activities such as the rock wall, the zipline, and the water slides because he didn't want to wait in the long lines. Also, they didn't seem to be open enough hours based upon the number of guests on board. We did try the Ultimate Abyss, which was fun, but once you've done it, you don't really need to do it again.
