2nd MSC Cruise, 16th Cruise overall. They status matched my Hilton Diamond, and gave me Black/Diamond Status. Didn't mean much, still had to wait in line in the heat for an hour to show our Covid vaccination cards and negative tests, then get into another line to actually check in.

The MSC Davina cruise in Italy was far, far better, both in layout of ship and especially food. This ship has a weird layout, with small pools on Deck 8 and 18. There were only 3000 people onboard we were told by a waiter (5700) and I dont know how you could get anywhere near a pool at full capacity? Even with the top Diamond status and half full, we were not offered any upgrade (except to pay $985+ per person for Yacht Club). Our beige balcony cabin was fine but not very pretty, especially compared to the beautiful Red, plush cabin on the Davina. We apparently were considered to be in Steerage class by MSC here...

Main dining room food was disgusting really, the least enjoyable food and service I've ever received on any cruise. The Buffet was uninspiring and literally the same everyday. Canned pineapple and no strawberries in summer season? The Teppanyaki (Hibachi, best Ive ever had, $142.) and Oceans Cay ($100+) specialty restaurant were excellent, so they obviously can put out better food and service, they just don't seem to care to in the included venues. Sushi venue was ok, but rolls were basic for $45 pp. ? Drink service, especially in the Buffet area was terrible, Either extremely slow, or wrong, everyday, everytime. Room service was an adventure and comical. Ordered coffee for 3 every morning and it was a sh^t-show. One morning, ordered coffee for 3, received 2 pots of coffee and 1/2 a cup of flavored cream. Next morning, coffee for 3 received 1 pot of coffee and 2 cups and no cream. Another morning, received 3 cups, 1 large silver coffee pot full of cream but NO COFFEE?! Inconsistent drink service all over the ship was a signature feature. No standards obviously, seemingly poor training, so no consistency and a bad experience overall. Saw 3 separate people actually yelling at Crew in frustration, never seen that on a cruise before. I don't even want to get into the terrible rebooking issues, the wrong quotes to my travel agent and them coming back 2 times to ask for more money due to their mistakes. Never again with MSC.
