Traveled with children

We have recently returned from a wonderful 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise on Iona. Four of us travelled together, two adults and two children under 10. This is our 7th cruise having travelled on Britannia 3 times and with Celebrity Cruises 3 times. We shared a standard balcony cabin on deck 11.

We have only ever sailed on larger cruise ships and Iona didn't feel too big to us. She's a beautiful ship, allowing a lot of natural light in with big windows and a light and fresh colour scheme. The cabin certainly felt light and welcoming.

The children were able to attend kids club although this took a different format to usual due to Covid. They were assigned to a 'cohort' or bubble with set times to go to kids club each day. We got quite used to this and planned our day or evening around these sessions. They had a fantastic time each day and enjoyed the different daily themed activities.

Cabin Review

Four of us were in a standard balcony on Deck 11 midship. I am quite specific about the location of cabin so always choose myself. Deck 11 has cabins above and below and we heard little noise from neighbours.

The cabin comes with a single sofa bed and an upper pullman which comes down at bedtime. The children loved it. It's not a huge cabin but I feel it is well designed to maximise space. Little extras like the reading lights and a USB port by each side of the bed were really useful. Happy with the size of the balcony which we made use of as the weather the week we travelled was amazing.
