We booked this cruise through a tour website thinking, by December, we would be in better shape regarding covid. This is not the case but we proceeded to take the cruise anyway. HAL handled boarding really well. Boarding was scheduled so no crowding. We were on board in less than 10 minutes and our luggage wasn’t far behind. There was plenty of storage, a roomy shower/bath combination and the Most Comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We have taken many cruises with a variety of lines and I would put our cruise up against any of them. The food was very good, the specialty restaurants were very good and the service everywhere was very good. We would definitely cruise with HAL again.
I thought they handled covid the best that could be expected. We wore masks everywhere, only taking them off when dining or drinking. Our only disappointment was not getting an onboard covid PCR test a couple of days before the ship docked. This caused a lot of stress. There was a testing site just outside the disembarkation area and, although it was somewhat chaotic, we managed to get our tests. I am not impressed with how this unfolded.
We were in cabin 7089.
This is a manufactured port that opens for cruise passengers. Not impressed enough to get off the ship.
