We choose this cruise to see South Africa. We have sailed many times before with RCCL and Celebrity. We knew within minutes this would be our first and last Azamara cruise. This did not change as the cruise progressed. Excursions were expensive and well organised. Staff on this ship were spectacular. Being sold Azamara with drinks included was an absolute joke. The included drink menu was extremely limited..we ended up purchasing the Ultimate Drink Package even though we are not big drinkers. We like to relax and not worry about every drink choice. I asked for a proper iced tea and they only had the hot drink take out cups. No glasses were available to make a decent iced tea. Ship seemed to specialize in the smallest glasses in existence. Food we had was great, but we felt let down by the Main Dining room and the buffet. Theme nights had no choices away from the theme. Biggest disappointment was the White Night dinner. We had been out on a very long day's excursion. No buffet if you weren't doing the White Night. We went to the MDR but hubby was in shorts so not allowed in. One night they could have relaxed the dress code in our opinion. Ended up ordering room service. Cabin..horrible little place. 6010 right over the cabaret. No need to go to the shows zero insulation so we heard everything. Our cabin attendants were fabulous. Again our experience with the staff was always positive. We rarely went to the pool deck to relax, the one day we were looking for shade. Lying under the 10th deck relaxing and the maintenance team decided that would be a great time to start banging away on the railing above us. After 15 minutes of constant banging we left. We understand that work has to be done but a notice that this would be happening would have been nice. I know we are in the minority and most everyone on the ship appeared to be enjoying themselves. Can't stress enough how spectacular the staff and crew were.
