We wanted to see Barcelona, Monaco and Marseilles. We had previously been to Pisa, Florence and Rome, so those were welcome additions.

The Jupiter was new and we were only the third cruise. Even so, the staff and service were seasoned and quite professional. The food at all the venues was varied and delicious. The specialty restaurants reflected the Viking style and was quite different than typical cruise fare. Our cabin was comfortable, especially the bed. Owing to the new furnishings, the bed was neither too soft nor firm. The cabin stewards were quite helpful and friendly.

Embarkation and disembarkation were seamless, as was the port excursion leaving and rejoining the ship. I always appreciate Viking's included port excursions. The ports and excursions were worthwhile with one exception. Sete was a rather uninteresting stop.
