We (2 couples) took the Sept-5-17 Volga Dream Cruise with 4 nights at Moscow and 4 nights at St Petersburg, with cruise from Moscow to St Petersburg for 6 nights.
We wanted to stay at Moscow and St Petersburg for the city visits and Volga Dream Cruise program provides this. For most cruise lines, you need to stay in the ship and have to be transported to the cities daily for the tours. The Volga Dream hotels in both cities are outstanding (5 Star) and the guides were terrific. We stayed additional night in St Petersburg and Moscow - we saw few more museums/palaces. So much to see, so the additional days are worthwhile (we stayed at different hotels for the additional 1 night -otherwise the additional cost was much more). Moscow and St Petersburg are very beautiful and interesting cities.
Everything went smoothly and our guides were great guiding with a large group of 25 people. We signed up for the Gold program which has clearly stated a much larger tour group. You do need to walk 3-5 km for some days, since many sights are not accessible to vehicles or tour buses.
This is the least expensive cabin with portholes that cannot be open. It's slightly smaller than the sun-deck cabins (which we did want to upgrade but not available). But they are comfortable and we slept well! The staff kept the cabin and all areas very clean. Initially, we were concerned that the bed is too soft (and they are narrower than regular twin). Upon sailing, we recognized that the beds cannot be too firmed in case of strong wind/wave, you may roll out of bed!
