My husband chose this ship. I wasn't wild about going on another NCL ship because the last three or four cruises we have been on NCL. I liked the Breakaway because it was more modern décor and updated. I wasn't wild about the fact that the Haven was so elitist and took up probably a fourth of the ship, but maybe the other lines have similar things. It was crowded, to be expected. The buffet food was very good.
The free dining rooms took way too long between courses, except for one evening when we went to the Manhattan Room and our server was Florendo. He was so engaging and we didn't have to wait forever for our food and for drink refills without asking. He was a cruise hero, for sure.
BUT the best part of the cruise was going to Howl at the Moon every time they played. The guys, Steve, Jim and Oren, were super entertaining and talented and funny! I sure wish I would have paid attention to their last names or got their individual website addresses. I know they rotate performers, but I would love to see them again!
I am not sure if I got the category right, but our balcony was in the aft section. I was sort of disappointed in how small the balcony was but I was thankful to have it. The room seemed too condensed compared to other balcony rooms I have had in the past. It was clean. This isn't a cabin complaint, but the TV selection is worse than ever unless you are a sports fan or a news junkie.
We did not go to Megan's Bay because we knew it would be crazy crowded. I hope I am getting the name of the Island correct. We went to Cane Bay, I believe. It was beautiful and peaceful, not a lot of tourists, paradise.
We went to Sapphire Beach, I think. It was beautiful. One of the workers on the beach told us where to snorkel and it was awesome. If you go, ask someone there where the sunken ship is. That's where we saw all of the fish. The water was crystal clear, beautiful.
