Our 4 day cruise to the Bahamas and Half Moon Cay from Miami was wonderful. Flying in from Minnesota we were looking forward to soaking up the sunny warm weather since we left sub zero weather at home. We always try to fly in a day before the cruise leaves port to make sure we do not have any travel delays. Once arriving at the Port of Miami, our luggage was left curbside and we proceeded to priority check in and with in 45 minutes we were on the Lido deck sitting in a beach chair soaking up the wonderful rays of the sun. We have been on many cruises and love to book a balcony room so we are able to enjoy ordering room service and having our early morning coffee watching the sunrise and arriving in the port of call. We loved all the tile work and décor on the Victory. Our room was great and we had tons of storage room on the shelves available. However, we will not pick mid ship again on the Verandah deck, since we were under the lido deck and heard many noises, from moving tables and chairs to stomping to the music most of the night. The spring breakers were entertaining and very well behaved. We had many conversations with many college groups who were on vacation to enjoy the warm weather, relax and party. Half Moon Cay was very enjoyable with sugar sand beaches, beach chairs, a beach bar and a great BBQ lunch was prepared and available upon arrival. We chose not to do an excursion this trip, since we wanted to just sit on the beach enjoy the view of the water and soak up as much vitamin D as we could during our stay on the island. We had been to Nassau in the past, so during this visit we visited a local botanical garden, Ardastra Gardens and Zoo. The trained flamingos were great along with seeing many birds, turtles, reptiles and many beautiful flowers and trees. it was a short taxi ride from the dock. Senior Frogs is our favorite place to sit by the water and enjoy a beverage before we head back to the ship.

We try to plan a cruise yearly, since we feel get the best value for our money. We like to have our destinations determined, and not have to decide where to go for dinner or decide what entertainment to enjoy. Being on a cruise gives you many opportunities to enjoy many different types of food, many different types of entertainment, or just sit and do nothing if we choose, all on a large floating city. We look forward to next year, we have already booked a 7 day Disney cruise from San Juan. We will be traveling with our children and grandchildren in January of 2020.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

Our cabin was spacious, pillows and bedding had definately been upgraded recently. Our room steward did a great job keeping it clean stocked and we rarely ever saw her.

Port Reviews

Half Moon Cay

Half Moon Cay was a beautiful beach with white sand beach and tropical lush greens. Plenty of beach chairs and rental toys available. Bar service was also available on the beach.
