This was our first cruise. I was worried that I would feel "trapped" on a boat, but everyone I talked to said "NO WAY!! The boat is so huge you will never feel like that." Well, I did. There really wasn't much to do other than sit around on the deck and eat and drink. Which was nice and relaxing, but got old. I was very disappointed that all of the things that I looked forward to the most, didn't really happen like I thought they would. The water slides were slow and on the other side of the ship from where the pool is, so we barely used them. I was looking forward to Karaoke and checked every night and there were hardly any people ever there (maybe 10 at the most). I was looking forward to dancing in the 'clubs' and those were pretty much empty every night also. I was very excited about the sushi bar, but that turned out to only be open from 530-8pm... which was when we were at dinner every night. We did get it one night and they give you around 3 pieces at a time, not even a full roll. I was excited about all the food I kept hearing about too, but it was really like having to eat at a buffet every day, nothing special except that chocolate melting cake, which was SO good! The kids were excited about Camp Carnival and Circle C, neither lived up to what they were hoping for. Camp Carnival is in a VERY SMALL area. They had fun when they were there, but we kinda had to force them to go whereas before we left, they informed us that they were never going to see us because they were going to be having fun at Camp Carnival. Circle C is just a place for tweens to meet each other, then they come and go as they please... so from what I saw, they would meet up at Circle C for 5 seconds and then all spend the evening running wild around all over the ship, which my daughter did have a blast doing, but I think she was hoping for a little more structured fun and games.

I know it sounds like we had a terrible time, and I have to reiterate that we REALLY didn't, it was a very fun, relaxing week. It just didn't live up to my expectations at all and isn't the kind of vacation that I would want to do again.

Cabin Review
