Ok, so this was my girlfriend's and mine first cruise and we booked the Carnival Fantasy out of New Orleans to the Western Caribbean. We had an ocean view room (E133) and were very pleased overall with the cabin except for the lack of closet space to put our bigger cases. But we made due and it was fine.

The checking in experience was a bit longer than I would have liked it to have been considering we got there a good 4 hours before we were suppose to shove off, but we met some nice people in line and had a good conversation on sports (I liked that of course) and we made it go by faster than it probably did.

Leaving out of New Orleans is sort of unique as it takes you a good 8 hours to get to the Gulf having to go through the Miss. river beforing actually getting out to "sea". Read more
