Recommended by a friend.- learned the hard way that Oceania was less concerned about passengers who did not book through them directly.
We booked our airfare and ground transfers through Oceania.
When we arrived in Venice at approximately 9:00am, we had to collect our luggage and walk what we believe was an unreasonable distance to the bus. We were tired after an 8+ hour flight and did not expect to have to handle our luggage again let alone walk so far in the heat to get the bus! But, that wasn't all! Once we arrived at the Cruise Terminal, there were quite a few Oceania Reps directing us to collect our luggage (once again) from the bus and bring it to the loading area for the ship! Oceania couldn't handle that for the $149.00 each that we paid for the transfer? We found that a taxi ride where we would have avoided the long walk AND dealing with our luggage, cost $45 Euros for 2 people! For this lousy experience we paid $253.00 more? Talk about gouging!
Sleep experience - We would go to sleep cool and wake EVERY morning perspiring. Apparently Oceania turns up the air conditioning in the early morning hours...very sneaky and not unnoticed.
Short walk to the Old Town, shopping, restaurants, etc.
Short Walk to Elevator (Lift) that takes you up to the Old Town for 1 Euro Round Trip
Free Shuttle to the Old Town every half hour, shopping, restaurants, etc.
No mention in the description of the straight uphill climb to get to Eze.
Too much free time in Cassis and no more than a bus ride through Marseille.
