We took the 4 day cruise Carnival cruise to Catalina and Esenada from Long Beach. Wife and I did the 3 day cruise on Royal Carribean 10 yrs back, and so we did a lot of comparisons. This time we had our daughter with us cruising for the first time.

Embarkation and disebarkation was a breeze at the port. We parked our car at the cruise terminal.

Food was very average. Our last 2 cruises on RCL had awesome quality food compared to this carnival cruise. As vegetarians, the food choices were very limited on this cruise for us - both in dining and buffet. In general, the quality of food was medicore according to us. A few good highlights for food - Masala Dosa in dining room breakfast, carnival melting Chocolate cake, decent salad bar.
