We chose Viking Cruises as recommended by our friends and it did not disappoint. Everything from the check-in to the disembarkation was effortless. The Viking Star ship that we were on is immaculately clean, the decor is unmistakably simple and elegant (which is a nod to its Nordic theme), our cabin was well-appointed (linens were always neatly tucked and pristine, shower in the bathroom is big, and the veranda in every state room is a very welcomed amenity), and the dining options are exceptional. We also visited the ship's spa for a deep tissue massage session which was very relaxing. Overall service is also top-notch and the ports of call were memorable. Some of the excursions were a bit on the regimented side and there were some destinations that we didn't stay long enough (i.e. Santorini). We traveled as a couple (celebrating our 30th anniversary) and we highly recommend Viking Cruises. This is also our first time cruising so it definitely set a very high standard for us to consider on our next cruise. We would also like to experience the Viking River Cruises as they, too, were highly recommended by our friends, especially the river cruises through Egypt.
