Just retired and had never done a river cruise, Our 55th wedding anniversary occurred while on the cruise. Our travel advisor pointed us in the proper direction! We met many fine people on board. Had to be careful of what we ate - lots of fine vitals at all meals. Had to hide wine glass from staff - didn't know when to stop filling! The off-board excursions were educational, enjoyable and nicely paced - ear phones were great - didn't have to crowd up to the local guide to hear info - once I was almost a block behind taking pictures of the multitude of opportunities and the guide asked if I was able to keep up! Not only were the guides highly informative, but watchful of their sheep! We matched our river adventure with a tour of Switzerland - The transition from one to the other was seamless and well handled. We are already starting to plan our next river adventure with Avalon. Plus thank you Globus for your part in the two weeks abroad that we thoroughly enjoyed
