I have cruised many times prior and even cruised on Royal Caribbean before. No other cruise that I have taken was as bad as this one. Aside from being thankful I was safe and came home to my family the cruise really was not what I had expected. I hold RC to a higher standard then other lines because they pride themselves on being better than the rest! Being that I have cruised with them prior I too believed that they take pride in making sure they provide a quality and enjoyable cruise for adults as well as families. This cruise lacked events, quality food, ample food and surely did not cater to their itinerary. Knowing people would be out until late the shut down the restaurant that serves buffet style food which left people to eat pizza (taste like cardboard) tacos which was always a sloppy mess in that area or pay to go to Johnny rockets. No clubs on board, simple small area bars that they tried to get everyone together in. Kids as well as adults were unable to get ice cream whenever they wanted unless they paid for Ben and Jerry’s and even they closed early. You know pay for towels and they do not hesitate to apply a towel charge to you even when your on board knowing the towel couldn’t have left it’s somewhere on someone else’s chair because folks just take your towel when you move around. The lines are ridiculous to take to guest services in regards to that matter to have charges removed only for them to tell you to stand in line again the next day at the towel station to let them know. We booked massages on the beach at Coco Key and the therapist were awesome but the facility is nasty. The way it is presented you would think you would be in a secluded area in a cabana in the water or right there close by. You in a little wooden shack with cheap curtains and ridiculous blinds. You get charged a 18% gratuity (which the girls deserved for having to even work in that nasty place). In my opinion of your going to offer a service at least make it a clean facility not a shack where you have men working at less that 200ft away because they are building up the island. You can’t relax because you hear the banging from the workers. Usually cruise ships have events for all ages the teen room looked so boring. Unlike the inviting look that other ships provide. Other ships draw the attention of the youth. We asked if the ship had water slides they said yes and sadly it was for toddlers young children they did have rock climbing and basketball with ping pong and corn hole. First night was 70’s night..... ok boogie wonderland performance was fun and brought back good tunes of my parents music.... then they had a 70’s party, ok well what about people that want to hear something other than disco. They didn’t have anything else. They have a Latin bar but no night was there Latin dancing in there. The fair well party was basic many gathered drunk and made the best of it but again nothing like parties we have ever had in the past. Music was mainly songs that had a dance to it..(cha-cha slide, electric slide) I can go on and on but I will never take this cruise or sail on this ship again. Only specialty restaurant was Johnny Rockets... Room Service was a hour and a half wait and they now charge a $7.95 delivery charge. But the food gets delivered cold. There is no longer a room to iron or wash your clothes. It is strictly dry cleaning service so brace yourself to pay. Shops had cheap items prices hi... however they do offer Nike, Jordan and Nautica apparel now. At one point the elevators reeked of vomit and also the main stairs. Photograhy was at a minimal. Hardly seen anyone to capture moments etc. we paid for the lounge chair with umbrellas. The young lady Kelly was so accommodating at coco key.... that side of the beach was awesome, highly recommended. The little golf trolley they have for shuttles are always available and the gentleman are very nice and pleasing to speak with. Some of the woman that work there on the island selling items are not the easiest to deal with however the lady directly in the front with the ropes T-shirt’s is very nice and super friendly. I can continue to go on and on about other issues and lack of attention to their customers but I am not allowing myself any more time to give to Royal Carribean.
