Chose the itinerary, the date, and the intermediate ship size was what we wanted. All of the onboard staff were excellent, and we were made to feel like we were their valued guests. Several negatives however.

The food choices at the dinners were limited with many items repeated on the daily menus. The food that was served was subpar. The salads were skimpy. The prime rib was dry and tough, not good. Same for other beef entrees. And never on any earlier cruises have we ever been asked to make our dessert selection as part of our initial order and we found this to be strange.

There were many features that were lacking. Our cabin bathroom offered no amenities other than soap and shampoo. I used the steam room almost daily and one or both the soap or shampoo in the showers in the men's locker room were often empty. The merchandise selection in the onboard shops was skimpy compared to other cruises on similarly sized ships.
