We chose our Mediterranean Odyssey cruise on the Viking Star because we were so impressed with our Viking Homelands cruise on the Viking Sea two years ago and two river cruises before that. Our embarkation from Barcelona was so smooth, with no waiting in any lines! We had arrived in Barcelona 3 days ahead of embarkation. So glad as some passengers were held up in the USA with snow storms on the East Coast and cancelled flights.
We met our room steward, Nareesh, as soon as we found our cabin. He gave us a tour of our cabin and was wonderful to us the rest of the trip and always called us by name. He was the best!
We loved experiencing once again the wonderful meals, the beautiful and uncrowded public areas, the included shore excursions and many choices at each port of optional tours, every crew member who always had a smile and greeting for us, and the entertainment and activities on board. We would like to recognize our cruise director, Jenna Beaudoinwho we think never slept as she seemed to be out and about from early morning until late at night. Also, the young Australian fellow who had a beautiful voice and was also everywhere on the ship and smiling and having fun all of the time. And the extremely talented guest entertainer, Sally Jones, who gave two outstanding one-woman shows. We also enjoyed the Viking Classical Trio who definitely added class to our journey. We also enjoyed some of the lectures (when we had time!) by the enrichment lecturers, especially Mike Siegel who, with his wife, was very available to chat with during the entire cruise.
Our second time choosing this cabin category. We liked the extra room and the amenities that went along with it. We liked having new acquaintances visit our cabin to share our bottle of champagne (one of the amenities) and room service brought us some treats to have at our little party.
