Overall

This was our second Celebrity cruise. We normally sail on smaller ships and were somewhat apprehensive about being on a large ship. Overall the experience was extremely good. The factor that made a major difference was booking a Celebrity Suite which afforded additional perks such as, butler service, Michael’s Club and the Luminae restaurant. We also had the “Go Best” package that included tips, premium drink package and internet.

The only major negative of the cruise was not Celebrity related it was the weather. After perfect weather the first eight days of the twelve day cruise the last four days were miserable. The port in Dunedin was engulfed in fog that prevented docking. The scheduled cruise through the Sounds was canceled due to approaching Tropical cyclone Fehi. This resulted in an early return to Sydney and an additional “sea day”.

Cabin Review

Celebrity Suite

Cabin CS

We are now officially spoiled by the Celebrity Suite. We had a Sky Suite on the previous cruise. The separate bedroom and sitting area provided an extra relaxing element. The oversized balcony with a table and lounge chair was wonderful. The cabin provided lots of storage space. Built in USB ports would be a great upgrade in the future.

The butler, Stevo, and room attendant, Mus, were as always friendly and helpful throughout the cruise. Stevo was happy to provide an afternoon snack every day.
