This was our first cruise and we started at the top! Disney does everything top notch. The ship was just the right size that didn’t feel overwhelmingly big or too crowded. We were on the first Alaskan sail of the season: the weather was cold so no fighting for lounge chairs in the decks.

The cabin for our family of four adults was compact but surprisingly roomy. There was room for four big suitcases under the large bed. There was plenty of drawers and shelves for us to totally unpack. Each night, our cabin attendant made up the beds, which included turning the sofa into a bed and lowering a bunk bed from in the ceiling (clever use of space) and leaving an adorable animal on the bed made out of towels. Each night, we looked forward to seeing what it would be. After we left each morning, the same attendant would put away bunk, make the lower bed back into a sofa, and freshen up the room and bathrooms. The bathroom consisted of two small rooms. Both had sinks, one had a toilet, the other a tub/shower combo.

One of the best parts of the cruise was the dining. Breakfast and lunch were an endless buffet, and dinner was one of three Disney themed dining rooms that families would rotate through, but keep the same servers. They knew us so well that by day 2, whatever beverages we needed came right away. One night, our kids told our Indian head server how much they liked curry. The next night, besides the regular menu, he surprised us with three Indian dishes that were amazing! Our only complaint is that one night, the adults wanted to skip the Cajun themed restaurant. Our kids went to our regular table. Instead of the buffet restaurant serving a buffet, they had the same menu we wanted to skip. This was Disney cruises before this one. An argument over the food started and the meal was a bust. To rectify the situation, chocolate covered strawberries were sent to our room and our friends' room.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

Cabin 04E

As I mentioned above, the cabins were great. They were spotless, clever use of space and exactly what we needed for the week. We didn’t spend tons of time in the cabin since there were so many things to do. The cabin attendant was great and always set up and took down our room as if by magic. Plenty of room for all our clothes to be unpacked and storage under the bed for our large suitcases.
