traveled on this cruise as a group of 30, with my cousin having a wedding ceremony on the first sea day. My husband and I booked the 2 bedroom Aqua Theater suite and had our 2 year old daughter and a family friend in the cabin with us.

Embarkation was super smooth because of the excellent Star class service. We took a shuttle from our hotel and when we informed the porters we were Star class they immediately set our luggage aside and walked us to the front of the line. I knew that our Genie was escorting another family on board at the same time and was expecting to have to wait a little for her. The staff were very apologetic, but we did not mind the 10-15 minute wait in the lounge area. My daughter especially loved the chance to pause for a cookie.

My cousin and the rest of the party had some expedited boarding because of the wedding. Honestly, they were on the ship faster than we were, but I enjoyed the personal escort on and directly to our cabin - which was ready and waiting for us.

Aquatheater Suite with Balcony - Deck 9

Cabin A2

You book this cabin for the balcony - which was incredible. The balcony wraps all the way around, providing views of the Boardwalk, the aft and the ocean. The room itself didn't have the upscale decor that I would expect from the other Oasis suites but it was well kept and very spacious. We hosted a small cocktail party for an Aqua Theater show and had plenty of room for our 15 guests. My daughter especially loved watching the shows from our balcony and we must have seen each of the different shows 3 times.

While the shower is low in the master bedroom, my 6' husband was comfortable. He had to duck down to rinse his hair, but he did not mind that. However, the second bathroom has a standard shower and if you are tall, you may prefer to use that shower.

I didn't realize the master bedroom had a second mini fridge until we were packing!

The bathrooms in this cabin are all small, but again you don't book this cabin for the room itself.

I'd read some reviews that the distance is far since you're situated all the way aft. I did not find the distances or walking unpleasant.

You could hear noises from the theater and boardwalk in the common areas of the cabin, but when you went into either bedroom and shut the door, you could no longer hear them. We had some rougher seas and I noticed lots of rattling far more than the Boardwalk sounds.

When you are on the balcony you cannot hear the doorbell. I was able to hear the phone ring from the balcony and it was frustrating when you were expecting things like room service to not be certain if you could hear them. I wish they would hook up a speaker on the balcony to the doorbell.

Port Reviews

Labadee

We tried to do the zipline, but it was cancelled. The suite beach was fantastic and we had a wonderful time. I recommend wearing aqua shoes and bringing cash to tip the beach attendants. Our most relaxing day of the entire trip.
