To see the northern lights has been on the bucket list for a long time. We were concerned that Hurtigruten being a daily ferry service that it may be a bit basic, but we were pleasantly surprised that the ship is very well appointed, has plenty of comfortable lounges with large windows offering treat views.

Food on board is good, not the same quality as we were used to on Celebrity, our normal cruise line of choice, but the fish in particular was excellent. Staff are really friendly and speak excellent English.

Calling at many ports often only for a few minutes, the ship weaves in & out of the fjords and islands all the way up into the Artic circle. However, views are restricted because the daylight goes early in the day - it's the polar night!
