I'm always looking for cruise deals and I came upon an 11 day Southern Caribbean on the Sun. We have cruised over 20 times on other lines and have always wanted to try NCL. We were extremely happy we did.
The Sun left out of Miami and from the time we got to the port and finally on the ship took about 90 minutes. With the amount of people there it went very smoothly. The ship was in excellent shape and very easy to navigate.
The dining rooms were excellent and the food was fantastic. Only one time was I a little disappointed, I ordered the salmon and it was overcooked. Breakfast in the Garden Cafe was a treat. The food was always warm and there was a great selection to choose from. We never had a problem finding a table even at peak times. The crew was very attentive and helpful. We loved the "washy washy" guys that greeted us every morning at breakfast. The only difference I saw from our other cruises, is a lot of the time, the servers didn't call us by name and it was hard to see their name tags. It didn't seem as personal as on Carnival and Royal. We didn't have bar servers walking around trying to sell us the drink of the day as in our other cruises which was nicel
We originally went with an oceanview cabin and I bid on and won a balcony. There were 3 adults in the cabin and the balcony was definitely bigger. Our cabin was perfect for all of us. The beds were comfortable, but the couch that turns into the third bed was very hard. The bath was much smaller than what we are use to and the shower was very small, but we managed.
