We've never planned to take an ocean cruise. But after 3 wonderful river cruises with Viking, we decided to take the plunge, and were not disappointed.

An initial snafu with customer service was handled beautifully by Viking. From that point, our journey unfolded beautifully from booking all the way through disembarkation.

Our DV1 stateroom, on portside, was adequate for our needs. Always clean, thanks to our wonderful steward, Fred, and a pleasure to return to after excursions. We could have benefitted from more drawer space. Shower was roomy enough, and the heated bathroom floor was so nice. Nice lighting for trips to the lav during the night. Only plug provided in bathroom was for a shaver. Hairdryer, provided, worked in the stateroom outlet.

Toulon

Toulon, itself, didn't offer much, but our excursion to Eze and Cassis was very nice. The boat ride to the catalanques was wonderful!
