My wife and I like to try different ships, different destinations hence Golden Princess and New Guinea first time for both. I need not go into too much detail concerning the itinery as it was covered very well by Allawah. My concern that the ship is showing its age, built in 2001. First impression when we arrived at the Overseas Passenger Terminal was the large rust stains where the anchors are released ,not a good look.I know this ship is being transferred to the P&O Fleet., I hope this is not a case of letting it run down. A point in question raised by Allawah was the sewerage spell outside the entrance to the Vista Lounge- 4 months later that problem had not been rectified. We have not had any problems previously (6 different Princess ships). Our experience with Princess is that the food is generally very good and this trip was no exception.Usually you find staff extremely friendly and "your best mates" by the end of the cruise but this time some appeared not to want to be there. We wonder if the fact that tipping is not a compulsory thing for cruises operating out of Australian Ports is a factor. We are not deterred however as our next Princess ship will be Majestic built 2017.

Balcony

Cabin B4

We always like to be in an Aft facing cabin where possible, any shortcomings within the cabin are dispelled by watching the wake and having your favourite drink whilst sitting on your balcony.
