When we saw Adonia back in the regular P&O fleet we couldn't wait to sail on her for the first time. Having been eligible for the bargain of the century we booked a Penthouse Suite. We could hardly believe the spaciousness of the cabin and balcony - surely the Captain's cabin cannot be better! The whole ship is so attractive, mindful of a gentlemen's club or country Manor House, Lovely dark wood panelling and classic furniture together with the smaller stairs and landings make you feel that you are on a luxury liner. As there is only one dining room, there is only club dining. The dining room is so much more spacious and there is plenty of room for the waiting staff to do their job well, and they all seemed to be taking more pride in their work. This could be because they have the same passengers for the duration of the cruise, but it did not seem to be that way. It amazed us just how much is on the daily programme considering they have just four crew in the entertainment team and four in the theatre group. The Horizon Newspaper contained everything we are used to seeing in those on much larger ships of the fleet. The only thing the ship lacks is a second show lounge/theatre, but they make up for it in holding events in unexpected venues. We can hardly wait for our next cruise on board Adonia.
Enormous sitting room with large bedroom. A whole wall of wardrobes and a wrap around balcony large enough for two sun loungers, a table and two chairs and two reclining chairs with footstools. The bathroom has Jacuzzi bath with shower over (no separate shower which was disappointing) but it does have a second toilet near the entrance door. Absolute luxury.
