We left the Silver Spirit last year with a feeling of elation but I am afraid that the same feeling was not there with the Silver Muse. As usual the cabin and staff were excellent but the dining arrangements were terrible. Due to the fact that all restaurants had to be booked pre cruise it was impossible for us as a couple to dine with other guests. Breakfast and lunch was of the standard that we expect but dinner left much to be desired. There was no change of menu during the whole of the 12 days and I do not consider a breadcrumb coated veal cutlet served on a bed of mashed potato to be a gourmet meal. Where was the garnish and the vegetables? Where was the bar that served cocktails and nibbles to all the guests pre dinner. How often do you attend a cocktail party in a theatre where everyone is sitting down. There was a large space near reception that could have been used for both of these occasions but it would need to be brightened up from its dull browns.
The other irritation was the number of children who tried to take over the pool, running and jumping in whilst their parents ingnored their bad behaviour.
Overall we did enjoy the cruise but we would not travel on Silver Muse again. We are obviously not the type of guest that Silversea are looking for.
As we expected after travelling on Silver Spirit. Good.
