First let me say, yes it is probably 1/2 American/Hispanic and 1/2 European, but hopefully you are not choosing a cruise line on the fact it is not all English Speaking folks. If that is the case you are probably not going to visit very many places. Of course we choose MSC because of the price. We were able to book two rooms for the price of one on other lines. I am a frequent visitor to Las Vegas and this ship gave me the fill of one of those ritzy hotels. Absolutely beautiful. Only complaint was bathrooms were hard to locate and elevators were slow, but after all of the great food it did not hurt us to walk some stairs. We ate in the Black Crab most nights and had no issues. We had great service throughout the week and the waiters busted their butts to ensure it. Ate the buffet one evening and regretted it. They had very few option for dinner. Breakfast and lunch were very good with unlimited options. Bar service was good but very few waiters. Hint: Tip a couple of dollars every once in a while and the waiters/waitresses will go out of there way to find you each night. Finally, I highly recommend the drink package and if you have two rooms only get them for one room. They only ask for one card for two drinks. Overall we had a great trip and do not have any real complaints. Yes, I could complain we had two search for pool seats or buffet seats, shows were sometimes a little boring, tons of kids running around, or too many languages were being spoken, but why complain. I was on a beautiful ship making memories with my family. I would definitely travel on MSC.
We had a balcony room and interior for the kiddos. We are not very experienced cruisers, but from my one comparison, these cabins were heads and above carnival. The balcony room (9033) had a couch/queen bed and had plenty of room for the two of us and our visitors. The interior room (8031) was above the theater and bar which made it pretty loud into the night.
Boarding the ship was quick and pleasant.
We enjoyed exploring the city on our own.
