We chose this trip to experiment with river cruising, great option for us. Saw the westward travel of pioneers with great appreciation of the difficulty involved. Cabin and staff great, good variety offered at meals. On board activities limited to lectures about Louis and Clark, solo or duet entertainment at night. Fitness was machines on top deck. Felt too much time spent on lower Columbia River in Bonneville Dam area, was given two and a half days and sped through Snake River section, with the majority covered at night. Several docking locations were not near areas to walk, and had to use "alternative" locations or relocate a few times. Not much offered for young people, either on board or ashore. Many excursions were to museums. Good for history buffs. Did love the trip to Mount Saint Helens, even though it was a long bus ride. Passed on the trip to Pendelton, all day and promoted by bus driver as "lots of walking, if Bonneville Dam was bad this will be worse" resulting in many people dropping the trip, found out later it was not that bad.

Cabin Review

Cabin owners

Good size cabin, two comfortable easy chairs, desk and chair, plus table and chairs on veranda, king bed. Good lighting! Small bathroom and shower. Sufficient storage for clothing and suitcases. Did get noisy when ship handling required use of bow thrusters. Two large windows to front of ship, open deck outside with rocking chairs for public use. Pleasant space for us for the trip.
