We chose this cruise for the ports and time away, but unfortunately some our ports had changed before we even got on, so weather was not an issue, the ship itself is very tired and in need of a total refurbishment, not the dining areas, they were great. The rest of the ship, around the outside decks, leaking roofs in hallways, tiles adrift outside around the pool etc. Furthermore, Princess Cruises thought it would be ok to do non critical, routine maintenance on the ship, particularly Deck 7, whilst at sea, all day from 8:30 till 4:00 you could hear grinders, hammers etc etc. a lot of passengers complained, but the works still continued. The meals and food are excellent, and service is second to none, but the ambience and presentation of this ship was very disappointing. I don't know how passengers will feel after the current 104 day world cruise? Maybe all the work has been completed on our cruise? We certainly won't travel on the Sea Princess again.

A terrific day out with our guide Arii, a 3/4 day snorkelling with sharks and stingrays, and another brilliant Polynesian feast for lunch.
