Royal Caribbean is our cruise line of choice. We wanted to be within a reasonable driving distance from NC. Wanted to experience this larger ship. With the large amount of passengers, we were expecting a long embarkation. Pleasantly surprised as to how well this was accomplished. The same surprise was for the disembarkation. Both went very well. Once on board, we stopped at the information desk to obtain a deck plan and began to familiarize ourselves with the ship. This takes a bit of studying as the ship is so large. Even with the huge amount of passengers, we did not feel overwhelmed. Had requested a salt free diet when booking the trip. This was not a problem. After the 1st dinner the head waiter would bring us the menu for the following day and we could make our selections & the next days food would be prepared with no salt. Didn't take any shore excursions. Stayed on the ship in Nassau as we have been there a few times and wanted to explore more of the ship. In St. Thomas took a taxi to Coki beach and snorkeled. Beach is smaller than Magen's Bay but the snorkeling was much better. In St. Maarten took a taxi to Orient Beach. It was more difficult to snorkel because of the rough sea. The seas on the ship were rough for a few evenings so the Aqua show couldn't happen until the last day at sea. The CATS performance was astounding as the seas were quite rough. The Headliner show was great. The Ice Show and Aerial Show were very entertaining. It is a wonder how these performers and proceed with these show on rough seas. There was always something to keep you busy if you wanted to be busy. The Central Park & Boardwalk area of the ship is lovely, except when it rained but Central Park had umbrellas for your use.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D5

Cabin w/seaside balcony was larger than others we have had on other cruises, except for our Grand Suite on a prior cruise. Had plenty of room for our "stuff". Cabin steward was very attentive to our needs. Asked for kleenex, shampoo & conditioner and robes upon arrival to our room and were always provided with an ample supply. Room was kept neat & tidy.
